Website last updated 01/09/2014

The following information has been extracted from other websites and no assurance can be given as its correctness.

Some competition organisers are mentioning that entrants are not following the formatting requirements in the entry rules. To give your hard work the best chance to win, make sure that you do!

COMPETITIONS ON NOW

What do I mean by ...

Closing Date

This is generally the date by which entries must be at the address given for the competition - so make allowances for postage time!

Open To: All

Generally means residents of Australia but check the entry forms

Size: Words

If there is a range then generally the submission should fall between the upper and lower figures
If there is only one figure then generally the submission should be no longer than that figure
If there is nothing listed then the publisher hasn't specified a length on their website

NEW ENTRY for this month

COMPETITIONS ON NOW
Most competitions are open to new and original entries only.
It is a commonly accepted view that  if your entry is placed in one competition then the onus is on you to inform the other competition organisers if that entry no longer meets their entry requirements. It is then up to them if it is then withdrawn from the competition

Carefully check the conditions of entry for a particular closing time to ensure you meet it (be aware of time zone differences)
If the hosting website removes the submission link before that time, we suggest you contact them directly.
